I recently bought a new science book at Duckygirl Resale. (Our wonderful homeschool resale shop in Bloomington, IL). We started using Apologia's Exploring Creation with Zoology 1: Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day. We are enjoying lapbooking through it with help from A Journey Through Learning.
The first lessons are focused on birds and it has been fascinating to learn all of the details about them. We bought a bird field guide for Illinois and have been searching out new birds. It is amazing how much more aware of birds we are when outdoors. Some birds we have seen/heard recently: Eastern Bluebird, Western Meadowlark (beautiful song), Cardinal, and the Red-bellied Woodpecker. We are keeping a journal of all we see.
What fun it has been to become birders!
