Bubbles

Some of my favorite Bubbles words/phrases:

Oatbeamal= oatmeal
Wogi drink= yogurt drink
backward=backyard
dude=food
state tare=state fair
And, his favorite things at the state fair were the milk butter cow and the tractors!

Monkey is a pistol

So…at the dinner tonight Monkey was sitting in the corner and couldn't easily get out. While people were eating and talking he nicely asked the people on the outside for his water cup.

Sometimes Girlfriend obviously hears a request and pretends she didn't. This was one of those times and I called her on it. I asked her to not pretend she didn't hear when she clearly heard it.

Then, Carl quietly says, "I clearly heard it."

Um, yes, Monkey. You heard it because you said it little man. 😂

Wow...just wow!!

There are seasons where I feel like I am failing my children.  All I want for them is that they would love the Lord and live there lives for Him in whatever way He has called them.  Sometimes my words and actions get in the way.  :(  But, then God shows up and lets me see a glimpse of what He is doing in their lives.  And, reminds me that no matter what mistakes I thinking I am making...He is in control of the outcome.

This season...teenagers.  It is tough sometimes.  But, last night was a little glimpse of the Kingdom of Heaven.  And, the next generation praising our God. Thank you, Jesus!

Ha!

Daddy was with Cheeks this afternoon when Cheeks started laughing hysterically.  Cheeks said, "Daddy, I have something funny to tell you."  More hysterical, bend over and hold your belly laughter.  "It's so funny I can't tell you.  I will have to tell mom and then she can tell you."

Spooning

Monkey had a hard night...
After losing some privileges, he had some tears and was very upset at bedtime.  I had to leave the room because Bubbles was not settling down to sleep and needed some Mama time.  When I came back to the room a while later I found Monkey asleep on the floor with Dimples spooned up behind him.  My sweet little boys.
It does my heart good to glimpse these moments after a difficult day.

Road Trip-part 4

Our first day was spent at Mount Rushmore.  The kids enjoyed the views, the history, and the Jr. Ranger Program.  We came back another night to experience the lighting ceremony.  Any current or retired military came down to take down the flag.  It was very patriotic!

Just inside the gates.

Someone took a picture for us.  (Cheeks was not in the mood.)
Hiking with Grandpa.
Lunch time.
Sunset on Mount Rushmore.

Getting ready for the flag ceremony.
